ANGEL YAMIL

Hi, well like a wrote this was a labor of love, I tried to keep this layout a little more tame, lol, lately my lo's are a little over the top.  This is my little cousin (my cousins son) Angel Yamil and I just thought this pic of him was to adorable to let go.  I always try to either get my colour scheme from the colours in the picture or the total opposite, use all the contrary colours, so even though I never like to use dark colours for kids lo's or vintage, I just couldn't resist, so I used the red, black and white from the baby's clothes.

Well to brake up the dark of the black I used some white chalk ink with Tim Holtz masks of the gears and the compass, to give it that extra something, spark I did some journaling with a white journaling pen, I think it did the trick, give it a sort of extra dimension.  I you want to give it some more feel when your doing masking in a row like here make the first one on top slightly lighter from the next one, with the bottom one being darker, it will give you a sense of depth also. Here the flash just doesn't let you appreciate it much, but it works great, thats a painting tip I use for when I draw and paint, hehehehe. Next the title was a thinking process that stumped me for a while I wanted to do the name of the baby in a mask like affect, but didnt have any masks of letters and let alone that size, so, whala, I just took the same black background paper, cut out the letters on my cricut (used george basic shapes) and inked the edges with the same ink as for the masking and the little stamp of the bicycle at the bottom, chalk inks are good for dark papers like this, really shows up. Well the rest is pretty straight foward, but any doubts or question feel free to email me or leave me a comment.

Thanks for stoppin by and lookin, lol, take care, bye!!!

FAMILY LOVE

Hi, thanks for stopping by, well, this layout is really in my safe zone. I just love vintage, and got alot of goodies from my local scrapbooking store, like the wonderful graphic 45 pp, this on is "on the boardwalk" block of pp, and also brought this wonderful dictionary style pp which is the second layer on the lo.  On the dictionary pp I use Tim Holtz masks, looks like the top ends of an old gate love it, forgot the name of the mask but it has this one and another smaller one and a barb wired one.  The keyhole, key, and hinge are from the Sizzix dies of Tim Holtz, that I just painted with bronze coloured arcylic paint and to give it a bit of an old style to it I dabbed on some distress ink in black soot to the edges, on the keyhole I added a little metal heart that came in an embellie kit. The row of stamps and the small tag with the twine and the vintage stamp of the lady at the beach are from the Graphic 45 block of pp, there the die cuts that came in the pack, how great is that. The title is from the cricut cartridge, true to form "Heritage", just seemed fitting, lol. The little butterflies that you see are acutally metal, in a cooperish kind of tone, there embellishments for sewing.
TIP; go to you local department store's sewing section or fabric section, you'll be amazed at what you can find for scrapbooking and at just a fraction of the cost, sometimes there the exact same things, but since there not in a scrapbooking store, its a whole lot cheaper, ribbons, embellishments for blouses, lace, on a couple of the flowers on the lo, theres sort of a green little flower in the centre of the bigger paper flower and that is a fabric ribbon that comes in a row of all the little flowers and all I did was cut it up and wala!!!!  The flowers are from Prima's white Botannical Mix, which I just sprayed with Smooches colored sprays, make the investment with them there great and save a whole bunch of time and your flowers will be custom made by you for your layout, thatst cool, so best buy SMOOCHES, here I used the brown chocolate one, the sage one and the yellow, there fabulous.
Thanks again for stopping by, I love visitors, if you want sign my guest book, thanks again, any comments or doubts, just leave a message, bye!!!
